Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information ProdLaunchPad collects, why, and how you can control it. By using ProdLaunchPad you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, username, display name, and password (stored as a one-way hash we can never read back) when you sign up directly. If you sign up with Google or GitHub instead, we receive your email address and basic profile info from them, and never see your password for that account.
- Profile information you choose to add — avatar, bio, website, location, and social links.
- Content you create — products, comments, reviews, forum posts, blog posts, votes, and bookmarks.
- Billing information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processors (Stripe and/or PayPal) handle your card or account details directly; we only store an identifier linking your account to your subscription, never your full card number.
- Usage analytics — page views and similar events, associated with a one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself) so we can tell distinct visitors apart without storing anything that identifies you directly. These records are automatically deleted after 180 days. We also use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which collect aggregate, privacy-preserving usage and performance data.
How we use your information
- To operate your account and show your content to other users as you've chosen (public, unlisted, or private).
- To send you account-related email, like verification links and notifications you've opted into.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe and PayPal.
- To understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product.
- To enforce our community guidelines and investigate reported content or accounts.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it with third parties except the service providers above (payment processing, email delivery, hosting, analytics) to the extent needed to run the product.
Your controls
- Edit your profile information anytime from Settings.
- Block another account from Settings → Blocked accounts or their profile page — this stops them from following you or commenting on your products or posts.
- Delete your account anytime from Settings. This permanently removes your private data (bookmarks, votes, follows, notifications) and your login. Public contributions you've made (comments, reviews, products, posts) remain visible, attributed to a deleted account, the same way they would if we had no record of who originally posted them.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Analytics records are automatically deleted after 180 days. When you delete your account, your private data is removed immediately; your public contributions remain as described above.
Children
ProdLaunchPad is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
